Your account and data are important, and Tikit uses multiple layers of protection to help keep them secure. Across all versions of Tikit — including Tikit Nonprofit Pro, Tikit Warranty, Tikit Quality Control, and Tikit SmartLoan — security features are built into the platform to help prevent unauthorized access, protect stored information, and support a reliable experience for your team. 

Secure Access to Files and Information 

Tikit protects directories, files, and other secured information by requiring users to be authenticated before access is granted. 

This helps ensure that protected information is only available to users who have successfully signed in to Tikit. 

Protection Against Repeated Login Attempts 

Tikit includes safeguards against repeated incorrect login attempts. 

Users are allowed up to five unsuccessful login attempts. After the fifth incorrect attempt, the account is locked and must be unlocked by an administrator before the user can sign in again. 

This helps protect accounts against brute force attempts. 

Multi-Factor Authentication 

Tikit also uses Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) to add another layer of protection during sign-in. 

When verification is required, Tikit sends a one-time security code to the email address associated with your account. Simply enter the code when prompted to complete your sign-in. 

MFA helps protect your account even if a password is compromised by confirming that the person signing in also has access to the registered email account. 

For the best experience, make sure the email address connected to your Tikit account is current and accessible. 

Nightly Backups 

Tikit performs nightly backups to help protect against data loss and support the continued reliability of the platform. 

Regular backups provide an additional layer of protection for the information your organization relies on.

In addition to these account-level safeguards, Tikit uses industry-standard data protection practices designed to help protect the confidentiality and integrity of information within the platform.
